I’m Naomi and Rustic Blush Vintage Hire really began when I got married in 2015. My love of vintage styling had been well cultivated by then, so it seemed only natural that I would incorporate that into our big day. We chose to get married outside, in a quintessentially English Country Garden setting and I wanted to create a fete like atmosphere, where all our guests would feel relaxed, and enjoy what I hoped would be a visionary delight, with all the vintage, rustic and handmade details.
As my vision unfolded during the months of planning it became apparent just how many of the items I wanted to include simply weren’t available for hire. So began the labour of love, scouring antique shops, flea markets, charity shops and the internet, sourcing them from scratch. I relished the opportunity to let my creativity flow, upcycling items and making much myself, from invitations and favours, through to table plans and signs.
The wonderful feedback I received from my guests and those who later saw photos, (along with satisfying my desire for impeccable organisational skills!) made me realise just how passionate I was. I already knew I did not want to return to my previous high pressure job after maternity leave, following the birth of our son, so now seemed the ideal time to take the plunge!
I realised there was endless potential uses for my collection at a real range of events, whether it be a wedding celebration or a tea party for a small group of friends, Rustic Blush can add that touch of vintage charm. Helping someone’s vision and imagination become a reality is something I consider an honour. Turning something I love so much into more than just a hobby is a dream come true, and what better place for it to have all begun than my very own amazing day!
