A little while ago Rustic Blush had the delightful honour of throwing a Vintage Baby Shower. This was a particularly special one for me as the beautiful expectant Mama was one of my very dear friends Sophia! The shower was held in the stunning Victorian home of Sophia’s mother Jeni, who along with one of her sisters Josie, took these stunning photographs to capture the event. Please visit their website http://www.Buttonholephotography.co.uk.
In a break from tradition the shower was held in the evening and there was a rustic cheeseboard and delicious savoury nibbles to accompany the divine array of cakes and sweet treats. Guests drank Prosecco from tea cups and soft drinks were consumed from jam jars with paper straws! There was a photo game using upcycled vintage frames painted in chalky effect pinks & blues, as a novel take on ‘guess the sex’ of the baby. Guests were also asked to come prepared with their favourite line or quote from a children’s book or poem, which were then written onto luggage tags and hung on ribbon to make a bunting style message board for the new baby. There was even a vintage style sweet stall with personalised bags, so that all the guests could take home a sugary memento of the evening!
The shower was a roaring success and Sophia was suitably spoilt by all those who love her. Just a week later, a little earlier than expected, April Eileen Jenkinson made an appearance making Sophia a proud mummy once again, and her other daughter Violet Dorothy a doting big sister.
We love a baby shower as much as a wedding here at Rustic Blush, and feel it’s yet another wonderful opportunity to indulge in vintage styling and aesthetics, so spread the word if you know of anybody who might like the Rustic Blush touch to their forthcoming shower!
